We aim to reduce our consumption and support a sustainable earth

Water-saving measures include waterless urinals, chemical toilet flushing, waterless hand sanitising stations and aeration taps with reduced water flow, efficient use of borehole water, rainwater harvesting and water-wise gardens. For our employees, we promote responsible water consumption through targeted campaigns such as World Water Week. Our digital solutions and IoT capabilities enable our government and business customers to manage their water consumption. These solutions help local municipalities monitor and manage water leaks through early detection.

Efficient water saving through IoT and AI

To coincide with COP27, working with FIDO UK, Vodafone Egypt implemented a small-scale project in Sharm El Sheikh to detect water leakage in the drinking water network. The solution analyses this data through IoT and AI to define the leakage size and location. This helps prevent further damage or water loss and can reduce water waste by a minimum of 30%. We provided the connectivity and implementation of the detectors for this solution, which uses a world-first to categorise leaks by size so to prioritise the largest and automates field deployment to maximise efficiency. The benefits are accurate and prompt detection of leaks, increased prediction accuracy, exact location identification through cloud correlation, resource prioritisation and evidential reporting
