Anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing

We continually enhance our anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing programme by investing in robotics and data analytics capabilities to enable proactive risk management in line with our risk-based approach. The grey listing of countries in which we operate required us to enhance controls, manage relationships with our customers and third parties, and update our financial crime risk assessments using quantitative and qualitative factors.

Anti-bribery and corruption

Our anti-bribery and corruption policy, standards and mandatory requirements apply to all Vodacom’s operations. These outline Vodacom’s zero tolerance approach and provide consistent rules to prevent bribery and corruption. The policy is reviewed annually and communicated to all employees, contractors, and business ventures. Our employees, subsidiaries, vendors and high-risk sales intermediaries regularly complete training to ensure they uphold the applicable policy requirements. The anti-bribery policy guides our due diligence processes and the approval process for charitable contributions as defined in the charitable donations policy. It prohibits Vodacom operations from funding or contributing to political party activity. Our activities also focus on reviewing and enhancing our processes related to third-party relationships.
