Apply for the 2017 Vodacom Change the World Volunteer Programme
Vodacom, through the Vodacom Change the World (CtW) initiative, is calling for young South Africans to volunteer their time in giving back to their communities through Non-Profit Organisations (NPO) of their choice for a year, while getting paid.
The Vodacom Change the World programme was introduced in 2011, giving individuals the opportunity to ply their Information and Communications Technology knowledge and skills to work for a NPO for a period of 12 months. To date, 111 volunteers have already made a difference working with a wide range of NPOs.
This year’s programme will focus on affording young graduates with volunteerism opportunities and real work experience while promoting the culture and spirit of volunteerism.
The country’s skills development remains a challenge while the unemployment rate remains stubbornly high. In an attempt to help address this challenge, Vodacom Foundation is set to help empower young people through the Vodacom Change the World programme.
“Through this programme, volunteers are afforded a unique opportunity to do something close to their heart, whilst imparting their skills to help society. The programme continues to go from strength to strength as it touches the lives of ordinary South Africans. If you would like to do the same, apply today,” says Takalani Netshitenzhe, chief officer of corporate affairs at Vodacom Group.
If you believe you have what it takes to change the world, then now’s the time to apply to be one of the 2017 Vodacom Change the World volunteers. All you need do is to approach an NPO of your choice and gain its support and agreement on your role, goals and monthly salary. Should you be interested in applying, entries for the change the world programme open from 20 June to 31st July 2017. Apply online at www.vodacomctw.co.za

Vodacom notice - Phishing
Vodacom has recently been made aware of some customers receiving fraudulent emails claiming to be from Vodacom and asking for updated contact information. The mails may even look authentic and contain the Vodacom logo and corporate colours.
Note: Vodacom won't ever ask for personal information over email.
These are scams commonly known as 'phishing' and all Vodacom customers should take note of the following before responding to an email from a site asking for personal information.
- Check that the email address and the sender name match.
- Hover over (but do not click) any links to check if the address matches the link that was typed in the message.
- Make sure that the email address or phone number listed in the email is the same as the one that should be on that company's records.
- Does the message start with a generic greeting, like "Dear customer." Most legitimate companies will include the recipient's name in their messages
If you suspect a phishing mail, contact our customer care by dialing 111 from your Vodacom handset. Alternatively, send us an email by completing the Scams & Hoax form.
