Vodacom expands international prepaid data roaming footprint from 10 to 64

Thursday, 15 December 2016

Ahead of the festive season travel rush, Vodacom has significantly broadened its international prepaid data roaming footprint from 10 countries to 64. International prepaid data roaming will now be available in countries including the UAE, Brazil, Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Turkey and Hong Kong. Previously these customers travelling outside of South Africa had acess to roaming services in Botswana, France, Germany, Kenya, Lesotho, USA, UK, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

By increasing its roaming footprint, Vodacom is ensuring that it continues to ease the cost burden for its customers travelling abroad and encourages its customers to use this service to say in touch with their loved ones and to avoid spending more than what they budgeted for.

Currently prepaid and top-up customers on Vodacom can access voice and SMS services worldwide. The service is available when activating basic roaming. 4G data roaming is also available by default in 42 of these countries.

To determine whether the country you are visiting has data services, customers can visit www.vodacom.co.za/roam

This is in addition to the completion of more than 100 permanent base stations in key holiday areas.
