Idols star boosts Pietermaritzburg's Spring Fest line up

Thursday, 27 October 2011

The line up for the first ever Spring Fest, set to rock Pietermaritzburg this weekend (Friday 28 October), has received a massive boost with the services of Idols winner Dave van Vuuren, as well as the Liquideep duo, having recently been secured. Brought to you by the Golden Horse Casino in association with Vodacom, the event will also be featuring a host of South Africa's other top music talent, including Elvis Blue, Lady Lea, Teargas, Mario Ogle, and Lloyd Cele.

Dave van Vuuren is arguably the hottest property in the South African music scene right now, having recently won the seventh season of Idols earlier this month. Van Vuuren, along with the well-established Liquideep, whose melodically deep house music has seen the duo share stages with huge American superstars such as Akon and Angie Stone, is expected to draw huge crowds to the Golden Horse Casino. Spring Fest will also feature celebrity guest M.C's Dave Gusseli (East Coast Radio DJ) and Nina Hlalo (Class Act 2011 finalist).

V.I.P and V.V.I.P guests will also have the chance to enjoy Spring Fest's top-class entertainment line up from an exclusive viewing area complete with an eagle eye perspective of the event. These guests will also be treated to a Spring-themed couture evening which will include a three course buffet, spring themed cocktails, a professional photo studio, as well as a cigar area. General, V.I.P and V.V.I.P tickets are available through Computicket and at Shoprite checkers stores, with prices starting at R100.

A number of local artists will also be given a chance to perform, with the conference centre inside the Golden Horse Casino also set to function as an additional venue for the event. Spring Fest has also been aligned with Vodacom's ‘Mofaya summer!' campaign, which guarantees to raise the temperature even more this summer.

Vodacom KZN's Managing Executive Alberts Breed said that "we are very excited about augmenting what is already a top quality entertainment line up with Dave van Vuuren and Liquideep. Their presence will surely contribute to making the inaugural Spring Fest a huge success. As the capital of KwaZulu Natal, we are committed to seeing Pietermaritzburg establish itself as a vibrant and exciting city, and by partnering with the Golden Horse Casino, Vodacom is proud to be able to contribute to the bolstering of the city's reputation as a viable location for events such as this. Also, by aligning Spring Fest with our ‘Mofaya summer' campaign, Vodacom hopes to further connect people and create possibilities, and this is what both the Spring Fest event and ‘Mofaya summer' campaign is all about".
